Here are some of the beautiful areas you will explore…

California Central Valley

The Central Valley stretches 450 miles between the Sierra Nevada and the Coastal mountains and is home to one of the world’s most productive agricultural areas. It is also noted as being one of the most important sections on the Pacific flyway for migrating birds, so it’s the perfect spot for headquartering two birding programs-one in the northern area specifically targeting the snow goose migration and one that travels by boat within the vast waterway of the central delta. Or experience central California beginning in Sacramento, where you can take the California Zephyr into the foothills and across the Sierra.

California Wine Country

Known world-wide as a center for viticulture, Napa and Sonoma Counties in northern California, not only provide premium wine and food but also beautiful scenery and a temperate Mediterranean climate. Visit here and participate in a variety of programs that offer opportunities to improve your mental acumen, explore the wineries, enjoy culinary pleasures, learn about unique canine training facilities, or simply appreciate the outdoor experience as you hike or bike the countryside. Some of the programs are planned to include grandchildren.

Coastal California

The northern California coast stretching from the San Francisco Bay Area to the Oregon border is also referred to as the Redwood Empire. EduQuest programs vary from explorations of San Francisco on foot, from the water by cruising San Francisco Bay or with guided visits led by knowledgeable local instructors. As you leave the Bay Area and travel north you’ll travel through historic towns and learn about the human and natural history of the Redwood Empire.

Eastern Sierra Nevada

The eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada rises sharply from the high chaparral creating a formidable barrier along the length of California. Discover the breathtaking landscape on a horse packing trip in the John Muir Wilderness or choose to learn more about the wild horses of the West and the issues surrounding their preservation from your program base in Reno, Nevada. Experience a different kind of wildness at the exciting Reno Championship Air Races.

Multiple Destination

From coastal redwoods to the mountains of the Sierra Nevada, from San Francisco to Monterey and Napa, multiple destination programs cover larger areas of Northern California and Northern Nevada for a diverse and broad exposure to these remarkable areas.

Sierra Nevada Foothills

Nevada City is a Gold Rush town so well preserved the residents from that era could return and be right at home. Journey into the past and soak up the gold country history in this unique area. Celebrate a Victorian Christmas complete with costumed carolers and performers, decorations, festive food and crafts.

Sierra Nevada Mountains

From world-renown Yosemite National Park and Lake Tahoe to lesser-known but equally spectacular Lassen Volcanic, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, these majestic mountain ranges boast some of the most diverse and awe-inspiring scenery on the planet. Expert naturalists and guides lead us on explorations of the flora and fauna, environmental issues, geology, natural and cultural history of these areas created by such forces of Mother Nature as volcanoes and glaciers. Experience the grandeur of Yosemite from valley floor to Glacier Pt., the fumaroles and geothermal activity of Mt. Lassen, or the crystal clear mountain reflections in the waters of Lake Tahoe.

Program Reviews

#2811 - California National Parks Medley: From Giant Sequoias to Coastal Redwoods
This was one of the best trips we've been on. We saw giant sequoias, volcanic cones and fumeroles, rugged coasts, redwood groves, and more. The motels were excellent, the meals great, and all was very well organized. EduQuest did a great job. We would highly recommend this trip to anyone.

Dave & Judy, Mint Hill, NC
#17278 - Happy Trails: Saddle Up for an Intergenerational Ranch Adventure
This trip will be held in our memory banks as perfect in every way from the staff (we were treated like, "family" from the moment we arrived) to the excellent food, activities, the breathtaking scenery, the very knowledgeable, organized and accessible Leader of the Program, and the fun evening with the owners of the Ranch who entertained around the campfire. My granddaughter and I will always remember our special time together

Rita, La Mesa, CA

#20556 - On the Road:  San Francisco, Monterey and Napa Valley

Loved San Franciso - Monterey and Napa Valley more beautiful than pictured.

Highly recommend this program.

#12634 - Pt. Reyes Birding

I couldn't be more pleased with my recent experience in the Pt. Reyes, CA birding program. If you like birds, nature, adventure and a lot of action in a magnificent setting, this is for you.
